Medical Director in the Greater Palm Springs area

Sonoran Desert Pathology Associates is seeking a Medical Director for a 150 bed hospital in the Greater Palm Springs area. The practice will include oversight of the independent anatomic pathology laboratory, as well as performing Medical Director duties for the hospital’s clinical laboratory. Currently the practice has 6,000 accessions per year of mostly routine inpatient surgical specimens.

The position will require the building of relationships with referring physicians, maintaining a solid working relationship with hospital administration. The position will be open at the beginning of 2010.

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible AP/CP

• Current California License

• Fellowship in Surgical Pathology and/ or Board Certification in Cytology preferred

• 5 years experience in a hospital based practice

• Experience as a Medical Director desirable

• Competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with experience
